Duluth, Minn. - The Benedictine Health System recognized four facilities that met the core elements of the Benedictine Living Community model and four others for their continuing achievement of meeting the standards at the closing session of annual BHS Leadership Conference in Duluth on Sept. 25.
The four facilities received recognition for the first time: St. Brigid’s at Hi-Park, Red Wing, Minn., Cerenity Senior Care – Marian of St. Paul, Cerenity Senior Care – White Bear Lake, and Saint Anne of Winona, Winona, Minn.
Madonna Living Community of Rochester, Minn., St. Gertrude’s Health & Rehabilitation Center, Shakopee, Minn., Villa St. Vincent/The Summit, Crookston, Minn., and St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson, North Dakota, were recognized for continued Benedictine Living Community achievement.
“The Benedictine Living Community model places a priority on care for the aging that encourages independence, choice and convenience for senior living,” said Steve Chies, BHS senior vice president, operations. “In addition to providing access to a full spectrum of high quality services in a modern, safe and comforting environment, privacy and dignity of the individual resident is a focus within the Benedictine Living Community.”
To achieve Benedictine Living Community model requirements, a campus must demonstrate that it meets specific elements in the areas of mission, people, customer satisfaction, financial, physical plant, services provided and quality. “The BHS Board and entire organization congratulates each organization and their leadership team for this achievement,” Chies added.
The Benedictine Health System (BHS) is a Catholic, mission-directed, values-based health care system that spans the full spectrum of long-term care. Sponsored by St. Scholastica Monastery, BHS owns and/or manages more than 40 long-term care facilities - nursing homes, assisted living and independent senior housing options in seven states.
